Privacy Policy
Effective October 2026
Beat the Beep, LLC ("Beat the Beep," "we," "us") provides phone answering, call routing, and text messaging services to home service businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who this policy covers
- Business customers and prospects who use our website or sign up for our service.
- Callers who phone a business that uses Beat the Beep. When you call one of our customers, we handle your call on that business's behalf. That business also has its own privacy practices.
- Employees of our customers who receive call alerts from us.
Information we collect
- From our website: your name, business name, phone number, email address, type of work, anything you write in our form, and whether you agreed to receive text messages.
- From calls we answer: your phone number, the information you share on the call (such as your name, callback number, service address, and a description of the problem), a recording of the call, and a written transcript. Callers are told at the start of each call that it may be recorded and that they are speaking with a virtual assistant.
- From text messages: the phone numbers involved, message content, delivery status, and any opt-out requests.
- Technical information: basic data your browser sends when you visit our site, such as your IP address and browser type.
How we use information
- To answer calls and pass caller details to the business that was called, including urgent alerts to that business's on-call staff.
- To send the follow-up and alert text messages described in our SMS Terms.
- To provide daily call summaries, recordings, and transcripts to the business that was called.
- To respond to trial requests and support questions.
- To test, maintain, secure, and improve our service.
- To meet legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- With the business you called, which is the reason the information was collected.
- With service providers that help us run the service, such as our telephone carrier, voice and AI processing providers, email provider, and data hosting providers. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety of any person.
- As part of a merger, sale, or transfer of our business, subject to this policy.
Text messaging and mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Information may be shared with service providers solely to deliver our messaging services, such as our telephone carrier.
How long we keep information
We keep call records, recordings, and transcripts for as long as needed to provide the service to the business that was called, and generally no longer than 12 months unless that business asks us to keep them longer or the law requires it. Website form submissions are kept while we are in contact with you about our service.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text message from us to stop receiving texts from that number.
- Email hello@getbeatthebeep.com to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. If your information came from a call to one of our customers, we may need to coordinate with that business.
Children
Our service is meant for businesses and their customers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through our website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date above.
